“高鐵”開通在即，“高姐”整裝待命：高鐵線路上的`乘務員都是從無數應聘者中海選出來的，而且已經經過了嚴格訓練。
文中的high-speed train attendant就是指“高姐”，也就是高鐵上的女性乘務員。High-speed train/rail也就是“高速鐵路”（高鐵）。京滬高鐵將於六月底開通，目前正進行trial operation/run （試運行）。爲了更加親民，京滬高鐵拆除了部分luxury train seats（豪華座），增加了standard seat（普通座），可以滿足不同人羣的需要。
Train attendant就是火車上的“列車員、乘務員”。飛機上的“空姐、空乘人員”就是flight attendant。高鐵的時速比bullet train（動車）更快，開通後也將實行real-name purchasing system （實名制購票）。
