too+adj./adv.+to do表示“太……而不能……”
例句：
He is too shy to give a speech. 他太害羞，不敢做演講。
It's too far to get there on time. 那個地方太遠，不能準時到達。
I'm too tired to go any further. 我太累了，走不動了。
變形→當主語不是人的時候(即主語是不定式動作的承受者)，不定式既可以是主動也可以是被動。

特殊用法：
在下列情況下，"too……to"結構可以表示肯定意義：
1."too……to"結構之前帶有but, only, all, never, not時，是強調肯定的表示法，譯作“非常……”、“十分……”、“實在……”、“真是太……”等。
例句：

You are never too late to learn English. 你什麼時候學英語都不會晚。

2."too……to"結構中帶有表示某種心情或描繪性的形容詞或副詞，如ready,apt,eager,satisfied,inclined, kind,willing,easy,anxious等加動詞不定式，表示一種狀態、態度、傾向或心情等，其後的.不定式不是說明too的具體內容，而是修飾形容詞。
例句：
Lei Feng was too ready to help others. 雷鋒同志樂於助人。
She is too hard to deal with. 她極難相處。
She was too anxious to buy this dress. 她非常想買這條裙子。
3.在"too……to“結構中，不定式爲否定式時，是構成的雙重否定，其意爲”非常(很，太，那麼)……不會不(必定能，所以能)……。
