I am writing to express my interest in the Sales Manager position advertised on your website. I have enclosed a copy of my resume for your review"。

When you begin your cover letter, get to the point immediately. Explain why you're writing and include the title of the position you're interested in. You may even want to say where you heard of the opening: “I am writing to express my interest in the Sales Manager position advertised on your website. I have enclosed a copy of my resume for your review.”

Match your skills

然後,將你以前和這些技能相關的工作經歷的具體介紹,並且最後以類似這樣的話總結:〝I am confident that these combined experiences make me an ideal candidate for this position.〞。

A cover letter is your chance to convince the employer that you're the perfect candidate, so identifying the position's skill requirements is an important first step. Then, include clear examples from your previous experience which reveal that you possess these skills, and finally sum up with something like this: “I am confident that these combined experiences make me an ideal candidate for this position.”

Sell yourself

使用行爲動詞例如:〝facilitated〞、〝developed〞和〝managed〞的,來描述你工作的職責,並自信的表示例如:〝I strongly believe I possess the right combination of skills and experience you are looking for〞,令人知道你充滿信心。

When you're writing a cover letter, you should always remember your mission – to sell yourself! Demonstrating what you can do for the employer, not the other way around, will make you stand out from the crowd. Use action verbs such as facilitated, developed and managed to describe your job responsibilities, and make claims such as “I strongly believe I possess the right combination of skills and experience you are looking for” with confidence.

Proofread!

Tweak your tone for every company

Don't send generic cover letters that can be used for any job application. You want to make sure that the tone of your letter fits the type of firm you're applying to. Is the company looking for someone with sass or someone more serious? Figure that out on your own, and tailor your letter to what suits the company.

Be different.

Don't repeat everything on your résumé in your cover letter. The letter is your chance to shine and show a bit of your personality. Repeating what's already been said just takes up valuable space.

Don't bring up your weaknesses.

If no one is asking you what your biggest failings are, then don't be so eager to volunteer that information. The cover letter is not the time to reflect on self-improvement; save that for the weakness question you may be asked during the interview.

Focus on the company, not yourself.

Try your best to show that you care about the company and how you want to help it grow. Try to avoid using too much "I," and show how you can be a helpful addition to the company.

Stick to the right length.

Limit yourself to a page, and try to stick to four paragraphs. The first should be an introduction, the position you'd like to apply for, and a sentence summarizingbriefly why you'd like the job and why you're a perfect fit. The next two should go on to mention applicable skills and specific achievements that further showcase how qualified you are for the job. The last paragraph should be a final brief emphasis on how you're excited for the position and a place for you to thank the readers for their time and consideration.
