"work experience" is the type of work you"ve done in the you haven"t started working yet

you can say "center now I"m still a student." or "I"m a recent grad and Ihaven"t started working yet."

In the second sentence, "recent grad" is short for"recent graduate" and means that you have just finished

school.

Salary is how much money you earn, usually per year. When asked this, it"s best to answer with

a salary range or approximation and not an exact figure. This shows that you are familiar with the

industry if you know what the approximate salary should be.

When answering this it"s best not to say you can start center away. This might make you seem very

Dress properly. Don’t shake hand with the interviewer until he/she extends his/her hand.

William Hill先生曾任某知名外企上海分公司人力資源經理。

1、流利而準確的英語表達能力將成爲你的職場競爭力。

外企英語面試和雅思託福等出國考試不一樣。前者是競爭型測試,後者是通過型測試。

也就是說,參加出國考試的通過人數沒有名額限制,你只要能力足夠高,發揮得足夠好,

就能夠pass。然而外企招聘卻是有名額限制的,只有優於他人的應聘者纔可能在

外企英文面試中脫穎而出。

專業而熟練的職業技能結合流利的口語表達、清晰的英語思維、地道的英語發音、

準確而恰當的俚語運用、跨文化溝通技巧等將成爲你應聘外企的主要競爭力。

外教William Hill先生告訴我們:“I interviewed a lot of candidates in Shanghai, a few of which

did impress me deeply with veteran skills. I was surprised at their spoken English because

they appeared to be a Chinese American. I just couldn't decline them.”

在多人競爭某一職位時,簡單的“可以理解的”初級英語層次顯然不能夠凸顯個人實力。

William Hill先生建議應聘者不妨關注一下自己的英語表達和發音,中國式英語是應該避免的,

多瞭解你即將應聘的外企的國家文化,因爲每個國家的文化不同會使面試過程的氛圍也不同。

相對來講美國企業的面試比較relaxing,有點像一般的聊天,只不過聊的內容不是普通的“閒聊”。

如果在外企英文面試中能準確地融入一些該國的俚語,則你的面試過程將會非常的愉快。

2、外企招聘時看重哪些英語證書?

如果外企的面試官是老外的話,那麼國內的一些英語考試如CET4、CET6、TEM4、TEM8

等可能作用並不明顯,除了老外不瞭解這些考試外更多的在於這些考試並沒有對考生的口語能力

進行測試。關於這個問題William Hill說:“I don't think candidates with those certificates are up to par,

because what we focus on is the communicating ability. And, as is known, CET and TEM don't seem

to test one's speaking skills. But he who owns an IELTS or TOEFL certificate may be preferred.”

可見雅思、託福等出國英語證書可能在一定程度上增強應聘者的競爭力。

常見典型問題拆招:

3、關於介紹自己的:Could you say something about yourself? Could you sell yourself within a few minutes?

這個問題可以說是大衆問題了,通過這個問題,面試官一方面大致把握一下你的英語水平,

一方面找到和你交流的突破點,探尋本質,打破沙鍋是人力資源經理的一慣作風,

因此回答這個問題時務必事實求是,否則後面很可能無法自圓其說。不過這個問題其實也不復雜,

外教William Hill告訴我們說與其說這個是測試應聘者的問題,不如說是應聘者賣弄自己

英語的大好機會,So don't miss the boat!

你可以從以下幾個方面突出自己:職業技能強項,該技能的深入程度,該技能完成過的項目

以及自己其他相關方面的深入研究和學習、探索,注意突出個性。請不要在自己的姓名、年齡、

畢業學校、興趣愛好等方面浪費時間,也不用再把你的簡歷背誦一遍,因爲老外已經看過你的CV了。

時間可以根據情況控制在2-3分鐘的樣子。注意外企英語面試是口頭表達的過程,建議在隨後的互動

過程中多多使用口語化的表達,儘量讓自己融入整個對話(Conversation),而不是在教條式的背誦文章。

4、關於應聘動機的:Why do you wanna work for us? What makes you come here today?

面試官想了解一下你的求職動機,看看你對公司是否有所瞭解。顯然這個功課是你來面試之前

就應該做好的,所以千萬別說開始面試了還不知道這個公司是做什麼的。請在回答這個問題的

時候充滿信心,不要說是來試試的(you really wanna take a try?),如果能事先將公司信息整理

好並梳理一下和自己的職業技能相結合來介紹,則可謂Perfect Response。

5、關於你的弱點:What do you think is your greatest weakness? May I know it?

注意後面那句是客氣的,千萬別說No,也別說"I don't think I have any weakness"。

客觀地評價一下自己確實存在但對工作並不重要的缺點是一個不錯的辦法,當然別忘了

要提一下你將採取什麼樣的辦法來克服或彌補自己的缺點。

6、關於你過去的工作:How do you like your last job? Why did ya leave your last job?

面試官想通過你對過去的工作的看法,瞭解你對今後的工作態度。如果你說你不喜歡你過去的

工作,那麼你將面臨“既然不喜歡爲什麼卻會選擇”這樣的難題,最終結果是“缺乏判斷力或者沒有主見”。

事實上你既然做過以前的工作,那麼應該多少還是比較喜歡的,不妨談談過去的工作特點和你所負責

的主要任務,但要突出過去的工作趨於平淡且失去挑戰性,你可以在更艱鉅的任務和崗位中發揮能力。

同時面試官極有可能問你以前的同事和上司的一些問題,切記不要把責任歸咎到別人身上。

7、關於你將來的打算:How long do you propose to work here?

這個問題對職場老手來說簡直就是a piece of cake。簡潔的幾句話表達出你希望在這個公司一直

工作下去即可,同時要體現出你的上進心,渴望與公司一起發展和進步,不斷提升自己。

8、反問的機會:Ok, now if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

“Nope, I have none, thanks!”這樣的回答就完全錯了。抓住這個機會,把事先準備好的問題

和盤托出,多瞭解一些關於公司發展、職位要求、員工培訓、員工晉升、員工福利等方面的問題。

其實外企英語面試並沒有什麼特別之處,話題內容上也跳不出中文面試的框框,無非是用英語來

表達而已。在某些特定職位的招聘上,可能外企更看重的是個人的職業能力而對英語表達要求甚低;

或者在某些特定的條件下沒有太多的競爭者,應聘者不需要具備非常好的英語聽說能力就可拿到offer。

但這些情況並不影響我們對自身競爭力的提升,卓越的英語聽說能力必將爲你的職場生涯帶來裨益。

Answer by saying along these lines: "As long as my position here allows me to learn and

to advance at a pace with my abilities."

5. Can we offer you a career path?

Reply: "I believe you could, once I know the normal progression within the organization.

Can you tell me about it?" The answer may be revealing.

6. What are your greatest strengths?

Give a response like one of the following: "I can see what needs to be done and do it",

"I'm wiling to make decisions", "I work well with others," "

I can organize my time efficiently."

7. What are you greatest weakness?

Identify one or two, such as the following:" I tend to drive myself too

hard", " I expect others to perform beyond their capacities", " I like to se

e a job done quickly, and I'm critical if it isn't." Note these weaknesses c

ould also be regarded as desirable qualities. The trick with this question i

s to describe a weakness so that it could also be considered a virtue.

8. What didn't you like about previous jobs you've held?

Discuss the things you didn't like, but avoid making slighting reference

to any of your former employers.

9. How do you spend your leisure time?

Mention a cross section of interests-active and quiet, social and solitary -- rather just one.

10. Are there any weaknesses in your education or experience?

Take stock of your weaknesses before the interview. Practice discussing them in a positive light.

You'll find that they are minor when discussed along with all the positive things you have to offer.

11. Where do you want to be five years from now?

Saying that you'd like to be president is unrealistic, yet few employers want people who are content

to sit still. You might say, "in five years, I'd like to have my boss's job. " If you can't qualify for your

boss's job by then, you may not be the fright candidate.

12. What are your salary expectations?

If you are asked this at the outset, it's best to say, "Why don't we discuss salary after you decide

whether I'm right for the job? "But if the interviewer asks this after showing real interest in you, speak up.

She or he will probably try to meet your price. If you need a clue about what to ask for, say,

" Can you discuss your salary range with me?"

13. What would you do if....?

This question is designed to test your reposes. For example: "What would

you do if your computer broke down during an audit?" Your answer there isn't nearly so important as

your approach to the problem. And a calm approach is best. Start by saying, "One thing I might do is ..."

Then give several alternative choices.

14. What type of position are you interested in?

Job titles and responsibilities vary from firm to firm . So state your skills instead, such as

"I'm good at figure work," and the positions that req

The best thin you can do for your interviewers is to make his/her job easier. If interviewers walk out after

talking to you feeling like they carried the weight of the conversation, which is a strike against you.

But if your exchange leaves them with a feeling of,“Hey, I enjoyed that,” that could move you that

much closer to hearing that you got the job.

First is the trap question, which comes up in almost every interview. The trap question is some

variaton on“ What is the area you need most improvement in? ”or“ What is your area of weakness?”

The real answer may be that you have are lousy to attention detail or that you are incredibly shy.

Whatever you do, don’t share your personal weaknesses. Instead, try to find something to say that

isn’t a real weakness,but a slightly less-than-ideal characteristic. For example: “I prefer to see a

project through from start to finish rather than working on a single component and never seeing the

finished product. I sometimes find it a bit frustrating to work without that overall context.”“ Sometimes

I have a hard time saying no to people, and I end up taking on more than my share of work.” If you

really can’t think of anything to say, you can always go with this time-tesed (albeit cliched) comeback:

“I’m a perfectionist. I need to improve on not being so hard on myself and making sure I get everything right. ”

爲何要離開你以前的公司

對爲何要離開你以前的公司而對新的公司產生興趣之類的問題時,應該謹慎回答。 這樣的問題

一、你來這裏能幹什麼?

對這類咄咄逼人的難題,主試人提出其意圖有二:一是懷疑、不信任這位求職者的學歷、資歷或經驗並暗示

不大可能錄用;二是有意出此難題,以誘使對方儘可能地表白自己,從而更深入瞭解此人。答問策略:

1先從心理上要穩住,別慌亂,彆氣餒,別急着辯白。

2應把這類難題當成進一步申明這職位適合你的種種條件和理由,即我到這裏能幹什麼工作。既要自信,又要實事求是。

3應聘前先要把自己的資歷與經驗和用人單位職位的條件一一分析清楚,列出種種適合的理由,這樣在答問時就會

慷慨陳詞、條理井然了。

4不要長篇大論,能說清楚就夠了。

5態度要不卑不亢,不要一聽對方認爲你幹不了,你就乞求對方。因爲用人單位不會因可憐誰就錄用誰的。

二、你爲什麼有興趣到這裏找工作?

用人單位對某些學歷、資歷比較高的求職者常提類似的問題,其意圖是:1怕這人將來"跳槽",工作不安心,

把新工作當成一塊跳板。2進一步考驗這種人,看他們有沒有決心到這裏來踏實工作。3多用反問句、設問句的

口氣提出,考察應聘者的態度變化。答問策略:

1應聘人聽到這類提問應該推斷出自己的條件還不錯,用人單位可能出於擔心自己不安心所致。

所以要態度誠懇地指出有興趣來此的原因:

(a)專業對口;

(b)公司有發展;

(c)工作環境優越;

(d)聽朋友介紹這家公司的老闆是"伯樂";

(e)有更多到外國工作的機會;

(f)經常出差適合自己的興趣;

(g)離家近;

(h)福利待遇特別好,等等。(只需點出即可,不必大加渲染)

2以比較堅決的口氣表白自己如何喜歡這個部門並願爲它效勞。

3別忙中出錯或言多語失。比如對方是一個臺灣人開的公司,你卻說:"我很希望爲泰國的公司工作,

泰國是一個美麗的發展中國家。"這會讓對方啼笑皆非的。

面試難題的應答策略 (下)

三、你自認爲有什麼優缺點?

主試人想通過這一類問題的解答瞭解到: 1這個人能否對自己做出正確的估價。因爲不能估計自己的人,

往往也不會正確地評價自己的工作;2主試人最關注的是該人的缺點、弱點,如這方面的問題比較突出,

那就不適合做某項工作。

答問策略:

1參加面試前,應對個人的優點缺點有所認識,必要時聽聽家人或朋友的評價。千萬不要一聽對方問這

類問題就不知如何是好了。

2最忌諱的是無所謂的態度,比如:"我也沒什麼優點,也談不上什麼缺點,我這個人嘛,一般就是了!""誰還沒個

缺點?我有是有,可是一下子也講不清楚,管它呢?quot;--這種回答,容易給人以玩世不恭的感覺,很難委以重要的職位。

3自己的優點、長處,缺點、短處都應老老實實地講,態度越是誠懇、真摯,對方越對你有好感,不一定會減少聘用的機會。

4會講話的人大都善於運用個人的優缺點把這篇大文章作好。下面,我們列出幾條,你看自己有沒有,

又怎麼利用它巧妙地介紹自己:

對應聘有利的優點:

--好學習、肯鑽研。

--腦子好使,記憶力強。

--辦事認真,一絲不苟。

--有幹勁,不惜力。

--好相處,跟誰都合得來。

--有比較豐富的閱歷。

--喜歡接受挑戰性的課題。

--不交女友(男友)不成家。

對應聘有利的缺點:

--有名利思想:

(a)別人說我是個人主義、名利思想。

(b)別人認爲我好出風頭,追求名利地位。

(c)沒名沒利的事,我不大樂意幹。(名利思想的另一面,是有所作爲,不甘寂寞。只要認真對待,

克服短處,可以從事開拓創新的工作。)

--急脾氣

(a)工作要是幹不好,我打心裏起急,非得幹好不成。

(b)誰要幹活投機取巧,我老跟人家發脾氣。

(c)遇到磨洋工的人,我就跟他急!

--有時主觀:

(a)別人要說服我,可不容易了,你擺不出事實、證據來,我還是堅持個人的主見。

(b)我不會讓人牽鼻子走,確實很主觀。

(c)我有時會跟同事爭,因爲他們說服不了我,說我太主觀了。

--不拘小節:

(a)我這個人,大事頭腦清醒,可小事又不拘小節。

(b)我經常忽略一些小事,這是不細心的表現。

(c)您可別讓我處理瑣碎的事,我這人太不細心。(該人或許從事開拓性的工作較爲合適。)

--摳門兒、吝嗇:

(a)時代變了,我還是一分錢掰兩半地花,招人討厭。

(b)別人跟我吵,很多時候是嫌我管錢太死,說我"摳門兒到家"了。我就是老改不了!

(該人適合管理財務工作)。

(c)單位裏的年輕人給我起了一個難聽的外號:"吝嗇鬼",想來想去這是我的缺點。

--害羞、膽小:

(a)別人說我是"大姑娘",害羞,見不得大世面,只能幹些看攤的工作。

(該人適合做文祕、打字員、保管員等工作)

(b)我這個人生來膽子小,別說違法的事,就連上班也不敢遲到,怕人家議論。

(c)許多事未經請示,我是絕對不敢幹的。膽小怕事嘛。(膽小,未必是弱點。

有些工作交給膽大的人去幹,領導還真不放心呢。)

--不顧家:

(a)我這個人家庭觀念太差,幹起活來老是不顧家。

(b)我老婆老說我:"你呀,腦子裏只有公司,沒有公館(指住處)。""你乾脆住在公司算了。

"所以,我不是一個好丈夫。

(c)我不是一個事業、家庭兩全的人物。腦子裏只有事業,哪還有家庭?大家都像我這樣可就麻煩了。

5在談及個人的優缺點時,最好以一種自我反省的語氣說才能給人以良好印象。

四、你善於與什麼人相處?

主試人是出於某些職位、行業的特殊需要才提出類似問題的。通過提問,瞭解該人能否與同事

溝通營造良好的辦公環境,提高辦公效率,能否對外打開局面,廣爲結識顧客羣,以便更好地完成調查、

促銷等任務。答問策略:

1應聘者應以親切、輕鬆的語氣談論此類話題,給人以通達、開朗、熱情的印象。這印象本身就在說明

你這個人很好相處。如果你的態度又拘謹、又嚴肅,倒證明你這個人不好相交。

2談及領導問題時應格外慎重。對領導,不存在你喜歡不喜歡的問題,因爲你不喜歡,人家仍然是領導。

所以應當從領導與被領導的關係上談論爲好。

3老好人,好好先生--這種人跟誰都合得來。但某些行業(如警察、質檢員等)或某些職位,

就不適宜這種人幹。所以談話時,要想到這一點。

4如果是剛畢業的大學生或是其他剛走出校門的學生,回答這種問題講些學校生活同學之間的交友事例就行了。

五、你爲什麼經常想調動工作?

主試人提出這類可能令你感到難堪、尷尬的問題,其意圖有二:一是深入瞭解你申請新工作的內在動因,

是嫌過去的工資低?還是本人能力差、表現不好而讓人辭退?還是生性好動,老是這山望着那山高,哪兒都呆

不住、呆不長?等等。而這些恰恰是所有用人單位最討厭的地方。二是考察該人的工作態度和應變能力。答問策略:

1這類問題都是非常敏感的話題,答問時宜慎重思考、從容作答。

2問及爲什麼"跳槽"時,不宜強調的理由有:

(a)市場不景氣,是隨大溜被辭退的(主試人會想:爲什麼不把你留下來呢?);

(b)跟原單位的領導不和;

(c)想多掙錢;

(d)想找離家近點的地方,等等。這類回答易使用人單位覺得你不是最好的職工,弄不好你會故伎重演,所以要小心對待。

3問及爲什麼"跳槽"時,比較有意思的理由(真有的話):

(a)能實現個人的抱負;

(b)有更大的機會獲得提升和發展;

(c)欣聞貴公司要擴展業務,想施展個人的才能以報效社會,等等。

What Are Your Weaknesses?

This is the most dreaded question of all. Handle it by minimizing your weakness and emphasizing your

strengths. Stay away from personal qualities and concentrate on professional traits: “I am always working on

improving my communication skills to be a more effective presenter. I recently joined Toastmasters, which I find very helpful.”

Why Should We Hire You?

Summarize your experiences: “With five years’ experience working in the financial industry and my proven

record of saving the company money, I could make a big difference in your company. I’m confident I would be

a great addition to your team.”

Why Do You Want to Work Here?

The interviewer is listening for an answer that indicates you’ve given this some thought and are not sending

out resumes just because there is an opening. For example, “I’ve selected key companies whose mission

statements are in line with my values, where I know I could be excited about what the company does,

and this company is very high on my list of desirable choices.”

What Are Your Goals?

Sometimes it’s best to talk about short-term and intermediate goals rather than locking yourself into the

distant future. For example, “My immediate goal is to get a job in a growth-oriented company. My long-term

goal will depend on where the company goes. I hope to eventually grow into a position of responsibility.”

Why Did You Leave (Are You Leaving) Your Job?

If you’re unemployed, state your reason for leaving in a positive context: “I managed to survive two rounds

of corporate downsizing, but the third round was a 20 percent reduction in the workforce, which included me.”

If you are employed, focus on what you want in your next job: “After two years, I made the decision to

look for a company that is team-focused, where I can add my experience.”

When Were You Most Satisfied in Your Job?

The interviewer wants to know what motivates you. If you can relate an example of a job or project

when you were excited, the interviewer will get an idea of your preferences. “I was very satisfied in my last job,

because I worked directly with the customers and their problems; that is an important part of the job for me.”

What Can You Do for Us That Other Candidates Can’t?

What makes you unique? This will take an assessment of your experiences, skills and traits. Summarize

concisely: “I have a unique combination of strong technical skills, and the ability to build strong customer

relationships. This allows me to use my knowledge and break down inf rmation to be more user-friendly.”

What Are Three Positive Things Your Last Boss Would Say About You?

It’s time to pull out your old perf rmance appraisals and boss’s quotes. This is a great way to brag

about yourself through someone else’s words: “My boss has told me that I am the best designer he has ever

had. He knows he can rely on me, and he likes my sense of humor.”

What Salary Are You Seeking?

It is to your advantage if the employer tells you the range first. Prepare by knowing the going rate in

your area, and your bottom line or walk-away point. One possible answer would be: “I am sure when the time

comes, we can agree on a reasonable amount. In what range do you typically pay someone with my background?”

If You Were an Animal, Which One Would You Want to Be?

Interviewers use this type of psychological question to see if you can think quickly. If you answer “a bunny,”

you will make a soft, passive impression. If you answer “a lion,” you will be seen as aggressive. What type of

personality would it take to get the job done? What impression do you want to make?
