求職信切忌空洞，求職信的內容要全面具體，同時又必須是相互關聯的一個整體，這樣的求職信才能真正對你的事業起到推動的作用。一封理想的求職信應該注意如下的幾點：

一、語言表達要簡潔明瞭，避免使用太多的專業 術語 和過分複雜的句子。

三、語言客觀實際。
英文求職信中應避免自己的主觀判斷性的語言和評論性的話語，不要過分渲染自我尤其不要說出與事實不符的能力或特性來。爲了避免過多的主觀性描述，你可以在自己的 簡歷 當中用客觀的數字和引述別人的話語來描述自己的實際情況。

四、重視開頭、結尾。

五、表現個人特色。
求職的信件要具個人特色、親切且能體現出專業水平。切不可過於隨意，也不能拘泥於格式——商業信函應該是一種既正式、又非正式的文體。句子結構和長度應富於變化，使閱信人總保持興趣。內容、語氣、用詞的選擇和對希望的表達要積極，應該充分顯示出你是一個樂觀、有責任心、有創造力和通情達理的人。
另外還有一些內容雖然不屬於求職信的一部分，但是也不能忽視，比如紙張的選用，一般採用品質優良的A4打印紙，正文用打印機打印出來。信件的結尾處簽名必須是自己的手寫簽名。
