Jake說:"It's this or nothing."要麼這個,要麼沒有。

作爲對手,這會使對方更親近你而不是他的觀點

"Tough on us"對我們來說比較困難

Ian強迫Jake同情他並且給與讓步。

同情對方來表示你願意從他的.角度來看待事情,但是也要讓他看到你的觀點。

"I'm willing to compromise"我願意讓步

Ian說: "I'm willing to compromise, but you'll have to do better than that."我願意讓步,但是你必須做的更好。

表示你願意和對方工作那麼他或覺得投資在雙方都覺得公道的結果。
