這是面試官慣用的開場白。千萬不要長篇大論背誦簡歷。你可以在這時將最突出的優點概括性地總結，並引導面試官向你早已準備好的方面發問。
What types of prospective job tasks do you enjoy the most？Which prospective job tasks do you least care to do﹖
主要考察應聘者會否對工作中的很多地方感到厭倦；另外還考察你對自己的喜好是否誠實，你是否瞭解這份工作的基本職責；你是否認識到任何職業都會包含一些枯燥無味的日常工作。
What is your greatest weakness﹖
不要把那些明顯是優點的品行當成缺點説，這種落入俗套的方式早已被面試官厭倦。可以説一些對於你應聘這個職位沒有影響的缺點，對於那些在面試中已經表現出的明顯弱點，你可以利用這個問題加以彌補，顯示你早已意識到，並且正在改進，已經取得了較大進展。
What do you plan to be doing five years from now﹖
主要考察你的職業目標是否符合公司的要求；這份職業是否是你達到目的的合理選擇；你是否有繼續發展的熱情；你的野心是否和這份職業的'要求相契合；你的發展潛力有多大。如果你應聘大企業，千萬不要提你想創業，如果應聘小企業，這倒是個合理的回答。
What college subjects did you like best and least﹖ Why﹖
這個問題用來發現應聘者是怎樣類型的人。即使你喜愛的課程與專業無關，也要表現出它對你申請的工作有所幫助。
What is your class rank? and your grade point﹖ Why are your grades so low﹖
如果你的成績不好，你要準備好適當的解釋。
What are your interests on outside work﹖ What campus or community activities have you been involved in﹖
列舉主要的一兩個興趣愛好即可，強調自己有很多興趣愛好容易使人懷疑你有多少時間用來工作，還可能導致面試官對你的誇大其詞的厭惡。
What adjectives would you use to describe yourself﹖
無論詞藻華麗與否，一定要體現自身的特點，並且與眾不同。務必為每個詞準備好具體的例子。
How do you deal with someone in your group who isn’t pulling his or her weight? or disagree with your goals﹖
考察你的團隊合作能力和領導能力。用激勵代替批評。回想那些你試圖鼓勵他人，並使他改變初衷，轉為贊同你的觀點的例子。
What position do you normally take on a team﹖
考察你的團隊合作技巧。不要把自己形容為一個跟隨者或是領導者。公司希望你在團隊合作中不懂時提出問題，必要時幫助他人，承擔責任，做出貢獻。好的合作者在團隊中的角色是動態的。
Tell me what you’re most proud of on your experiences﹖
這個問題幾乎是每一位求職者必然面對的問題，最好挑選能夠體現公司希望看到的素質的事例。
What is the worst mistake you’ve ever made﹖
千萬不要提那些人生污點，任何公司都會敬而遠之。可以講述一個有價值的教訓，最好發生在很久以前，強調你從中學到現在，它如何影響你的今後發展。
